Course Overview:

Pilots nationwide choose our highly demanded CFI course for their training. The course consists of 12 consecutive days. Each day includes classroom instruction and flight blocks. During the class, the simulator is used to enhance teaching techniques. Included in the course, students are paired with classmates to present lessons under the supervision of one of our CFI’s.

12-Day Flight Instructor Course (CFI)

Course Overview:

With over a 90% pass rate, our CFII course is the top choice for students across the country. Our accelerated CFII course spans 5 days in total. Your first 3 days will include classroom Instruction and flight blocks. The remaining days will include additional flight blocks and a Mock Oral.

5-Day Instrument Flight Instructor Course (CFII)

  • ✓ 12 Hours of Ground Instruction

    ✓ 4-5 Hours of Flight Instruction

    ✓ Mock Oral

  • ✓ Complete the Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane written (FII).

    ✓ Initial Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI)

  • A $500 deposit is required to secure your spot in the CFII class. Upon enrollment, you will receive an email containing documents that must be reviewed to secure enrollment. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Once all your documents are submitted and the deposit is paid your spot will be secured in the class.

  • Upon completion of the CFII course and receiving the necessary sign-off from our instructors, you will be eligible to take your check ride. We work with multiple independent DPE’s to provide checkrides following each course. We do everything we can to ensure students that are ready to take the checkride have one scheduled. Details are outlined in our Deposit Agreement.

At The Flying School, we take pride in our CFI program and maintain a fleet of well-maintained aircraft. Our dedicated staff is committed to providing the highest level of training and preparing our students thoroughly for their check ride and future as flight instructors.

  • ✓ 50 Hours of Ground Instruction

    ✓ 10-15 Hours of Flight Instruction

    ✓ 1 Hour of Instruction in the simulator

    ✓ Mock Checkride (including flight and oral)

    ✓ Spin Training/Endorsement

  • ✓ Hold a Commercial Certificate

    ✓ Hold at a minimum of a 3rd Class Medical Certificate

    ✓ Complete the Flight Instructor Airplane Written Test (FIA)

    ✓ Complete the Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI)

    ✓ Come with lesson plans prepared. There are great resources online for this.

  • Classes start on the first Monday of each month. Upon enrollment, you will receive an email containing documents that must be reviewed, submitted, and accompanied by the $1000 deposit to secure enrollment. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Once your documents are submitted and the deposit is paid your spot will be secured in the class. Our deposit agreement outlines our cancellation and refund terms.

  • We understand the importance of scheduling a checkride as soon as possible following the course. At this time, we have been successful in securing rides for our CFI students within a month of their course completion date. This success assumes the student is adequately prepared and has received the necessary sign-off from their instructor.

    We have arrangements with multiple DPEs who commit to conducting checkrides each month. In the rare event that a DPE is unavailable at the end of your course, we’ll make every effort to schedule your checkride within the month.
